Water should be the Undertow's emotional residue, not just a cool effect

Worldview

The water imagery can tie the entire season together if it appears in small wrong places. Wet shoes after a classroom scene. A desk reflecting like a pool. A hallway where the floor is dry except for the path leading to Jace. A contract that will not stay dry no matter where Sebastian hides it. That is how the Undertow becomes a presence in the real world instead of a location they visit between plot beats.

This needs one clean rule, one visible price, and one horrible loophole.

This would make the ship sharper, not softer. I need the story to remember this later.

Let Jade say it out loud.

This is painfully accurate.

This actually feels shootable because water should mark the Undertow's bleed-through into campus life. The rule should be readable enough that viewers can argue about choices, not confusion.

That is the kind of clue people catch on rewatch. I need the story to remember this later.

Quinn in the corner of this idea is where the pain starts. This would also give Jade or Quinn something useful to do, which matters.

Hard agree: water should mark the Undertow's bleed-through into campus life. As long as Jace keeps agency, I am fully in.

The Dealer should explain this like he is being helpful, which makes it worse. The `water` angle is what makes it feel specific to this story.

I would pin this.

You put the problem into words.

Small disagreement: I want this beat, but only if the next campus scene remembers it. The `water` angle is what makes it feel specific to this story.

The Dealer should explain this like he is being helpful, which makes it worse. I especially want the morning-after scene to show the cost.

The show should be adult and honest about the damage. That is what lets the mess work.

If they do this, the campus side stops feeling like filler immediately. The rule should be readable enough that viewers can argue about choices, not confusion.

This is the note.
